Superconducting shielding
نویسنده
چکیده
2014 Superconducting shields offer the possibility of obtaining truly zero magnetic fields due to the phenomenon of flux quantization. They also offer excellent shielding from external time varying fields. Various techniques of superconducting shielding will be surveyed and recent results discussed. Magnetic Shield Using a Bi-2223 High-Temperature Super- conductor
Katsumi Ohata* Junichi Sato* ABSTRACT: Magnetic shielding for strong magnets using a high-temperature superconductor that can be operated at liquid nitrogen temperature has been studied. Long and large-cross-section (9 mm wide and 0.5 mm thick) 54-filament Bi-2223/Ag tape was developed. Double pancake coils were wound using the tapes having sufficient bending strain tolerance for the react-and-...

متن کاملSuperconducting fullerene nanowhiskers.
We synthesized superconducting fullerene nanowhiskers (C(60)NWs) by potassium (K) intercalation. They showed large superconducting volume fractions, as high as 80%. The superconducting transition temperature at 17 K was independent of the K content (x) in the range between 1.6 and 6.0 in K-doped C(60) nanowhiskers (K(x)C(60)NWs), while the superconducting volume fractions changed with x. The hi...

متن کاملEvolution of precipitate morphology during heat treatment and its implications for the superconductivity in KxFe1.6+ySe2 single crystals
We study the relationship between precipitate morphology and superconductivity in KxFe1.6+ySe2 single crystals grown by self-flux method. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) measurements revealed that the superconducting phase forms a network in the samples quenched above iron vacancy order-disorder transition temperature Ts, whereas it aggregates into micrometer-sized rectangular bars and align...
